A
man and a woman who once had a passionate affair meet fifteen years
later when Una arrives unannounced at Ray’s office. Ray, after years in
prison, has a new identity and a new life. Una, now only twenty-seven,
is the only one who knows his secret. What ensues is both a high stakes
thriller and a tragic love story, a pas-de-deux of shame, regret and
passion. Una and Ray, after years of silence, are overtaken by the
overwhelming desire to hear and speak the truth, at whatever cost.
David Harrower’s riveting play is theater at its most elemental: one
man, one woman in a head-to-head confrontation that uncovers the
shattering truth of an abandoned and unconventional love.
“The
most powerful drama of the season… mesmerizing…extraordinary…a miracle.” -- The New York Times
“Four stars! The sort of daring theater far too absent from our stages these days.” -- New York Post
